Gufo: 1 Bedroom apartment, sleeps 2 — 125€ per night; 800€ per week**
This one bedroom apartment is called Gufo because, when I purchased the house, a beautiful white barn owl (gufo) was living among the rafters. The apartment has a cathedral ceiling with wooden beams – salvaged from another part of the house – and a spiral staircase leading to the sleeping loft with a comfortable queen size bed.
From the apartment windows one can enjoy the view of the surrounding hills and over into the Spoleto Valley. The spacious main room, again with Mission style furnishings, has a comfortable combination living/dining room with a Stickley table and chairs. The kitchen has a marble counter top, cooktop, stove, fridge, and everything you need to enjoy preparing our local food. The comfortable bathroom, with a shower, has a marble sink and antique floor tiles – again, salvaged from another part of the palazzo.
This truly is a delightful apartment to stay in with plenty of light and wonderful views.
Welcome package – seasonal fruit, homemade jam, local wine – with a week’s booking.
** Minimum stay for apartments is 3 nights. In lieu of higher rates for summer months, guests are asked to pay a small fee for air conditioning, should they require it. Cost is 10€ per day. There is a cleaning fee of 20€ for your stay.
Meals are not included with the rentals but I would be happy if you joined me for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Most guests join me the first night for dinner giving us a chance to talk about expectations and for me to give you advice about what to see or to talk about what we’ll do on your tour. Breakfasts are 5€ per person and will include some sort of egg dish, juice, water and coffee. Lunches are 15€ and can include an appetizer or salad, first course, dessert, wine and water. Dinners are 25€ per person and will be a full Italian meal with appetizer, first, second, side, dessert, water, and wine.
Full and half day tours are also available or you might want to consider one of our all inclusive package tours. Any tour package can be customized to fit your interests. A minimum of 4 people are required for a tour package. Please check out: Guided Tours in Umbria
Cooking lessons in the palazzo’s wonderful kitchen can be easily arranged. Lessons are 65€ per person and include the meal and wine. Or you may be interested in a full on culinary tour. Again, a minimum of 4 people are required for a culinary tour. Please visit our aWeekinUmbriaCooks page for more information.
