Culinary Tour
August, 2015

It was a great tour with just the most wonderful guests. Thanks to all of you for making it so special. And a big shout out to our wonderful chef friends who shared their favorite recipes and to Julia della Croce for being a part of it.

A little bit about what we did:
• Fabulous lesson at Villa Roncalli with Maria Luisa Scolastra. Course after course if glorious dishes. My god was this fantastic. Guests said it was the highlight of the tour.
• A wonderful tour of the organic farm Luchetti with chef Jennifer McIlvaine followed by an outdoor meal of grilled meats and a wine tasting at Terre Margaritelli winery in Torgiano
• Roberto Piergiovanni (senior chef at Bettona’s famous Sagra dell’Oca) taught us how to make his wonderful goose red sauce and home made umbricelli.
• A morning of friends teaching us how to make our local bread- torta al testo, another showed us how to make a torta della nonna and traditional crostata, and the third, and most marvelous, was the 94 year old Margheritta who taught us how to make Bettona’s famous dolce (zuccherini di Bettona). What an experience.

Of course the touring and other lessons filled up our days and nights.
